Target Users: Students living in dorms and apartments

 

Challenge: How might we provide multi-person lounge seating for people living in dorm rooms that are too small to fit a full-size couch?

 

Solution: 

• Lightweight stacking seat system that allows for a variety of seating possibilities and footprints. 

• Simple construction with replaceable components. 

• Combines the sturdiness and comfort of a normal couch with the space saving advantages of folding chairs.

• Performed significant market research and existing product benchmarking

• Conducted patent research to define whitespace and create competitive advantage.

• Created “works-like” and “looks-like” prototypes and CAD models

• Drafted manufacturing plan and business model
